An Empty Room Never Stays Empty

An empty room never stays empty. Wood rots in silence. Idle walls gather dust, then teeth. They told you an idle mind belongs to the devil. They forgot that the devil takes your voice first. Two mattresses on the iron frame. One stays clean. Nobody sits on the edge of your space. Nobody checks if your mouth is dry. Nobody asks if your chest still moves under the blanket. You wait for footsteps in the hall. They always walk past your door. When the living refuse to share your air, you invite something else in. You take black ink to bare plywood. Two round eyes. One wide grin that never blinks. The room is not empty anymore. The bed above you has a face. And it is hungry for company.
